Cold Stone Eat n Go Launch - BellaNaija - September2013020One year ago, Eat N’ Go Africa entered the Nigerian market scene with the promise of bringing the best in F&B to the Nigerian market. A year later, we are proud to state that they have delivered on this promise, with the introduction of Cold Stone Creamery and Domino’s Pizza.

The launch, which took place on Friday 20th September 2013, marked the one year anniversary celebration for both brands in the Nigerian market and the grand opening of the mainland flagship store at Toyin Street, Ikeja.

The event started at exactly 11AM with Cool FM’s Taymilistic Taymi – the MC for the event, opening the show. It was fun to see the excitement on everyone’s faces, especially as the team members lived up to the expectation of thrilling the guests with brand songs and chants.

Guests who were present include the team from Domino’s Pizza International, headed by the Vice President, Eric Anderson; the Vice President, Cold Stone Creamery International, Brian Richard, members of the Eat N’ Go Africa board, the Eat N’ Go Africa team, the Coca- Cola team, members of the Press, advertising practitioners and other distinguished personalities.

It was indeed an ice cream and pizza party as the guests had access to lots of pizza and ice cream cake. The celebration however continues, as there will be an activation in collaboration with Coca cola on Wednesday the 25th of September at the store on 31/37 Toyin Street Ikeja.

Gbam you have said it all. As happy as I am that they are
taking business to Nigeria and creating jobs, I do not think it is
the wisest thing for Nigeria to accept them. One of the biggest
problems in the U.S affecting their health seriously is
obesity-people get too fat from eating too much unhealthy food like
pizza and dairy products, and to make it worse they don’t engage in
adequate physical activity. Nigeria should encourage originality-
food companies that start from Nigeria and not importing foreign
food that we Nigerians would be looking for a way to fight it off
our market when we actually care enough to understand its negative
      effect of public health.

The reason why the UAE has the fastes growing Obesity rate in the middle east and Asia region is because of stores like this that sprang up every where in their 30 years of existence. American fast food is unhealthy and I pray we don’t get caught with this craze of

Naija with our copy copy? Dream on…. all we know is how to copy the negative parts of other countries…we like orobo anyway bcos it’s a “sign of good living” so all these foreign artery clogging fast food restaurants are just here to satisfy our demands

Na lie! Obesity is rampant in all GCC countries, not just because their native dishes is all-fattening — basically meat, carbs and sweets (dates), but also because those rich mofos drive everywhere and do NOT exercise! It’s a LIFESTYLE problem.

I hope they have ALL THE flavors and CRUSHED ALMONDS now. I’ve been disappointed consistently since December – how hard is it for them to just buy an almond crusher for all the stores, instead of making the poor staff pound almonds on my behalf? They’re making enough money!

    🙁

why can’t you guys just appreciate good thing sef, quick to
condemn. Basically I think if you think its too much calories do
yourself good and avoid eating out. At the end of the day most of
our Nigerian food are full of calories. Justsayingmymindo

Correction – all food is full of calories, the “C” word isn’t always evil. However, Nigerian food is naturally grown and healthy (emphasis on “healthy”) while the processed crap sold by these fast food chains is evil. The only factor that makes Naija food end up on our love-handles, thighs and bums is our lack of portion control and calorie counting.

Why must you drown that pot of jollof in Veg oil? Why did you swallow that whole mountain of eba all by yourself? Otherwise, I’ll promote the earth grown, wholesome goodness of Nigerian food any day. We just need to measure what’s going into our pots and plates and then we’ll be good to go.

can nigeria deal with the obesity and illnesses that are about to be unleashed? i don’t think so. a country where people die because of ordinary diabetes.

Which kin delicious food. Plus, 9ja people should be the
ones chopping our dollar not the franchise from North America.
Somebody should do and open a 9ja version of walmart jare before
the franchise gets here. These are great business opportunities
people, we can’t let some out side people hit jackpot while our 9ja
    people get the scraps.

Well,am a lover of Pizza but do eat on rare occasion. As one has to watch what we eat especially as one gets older. There is nothing like one aging gracefully and has to begin with what we take in.
    Would pay a visit soon.

Isn’t it ironic that as the west is easing out of these
food and smoking habits, they are aggressively spreading it to the
east and Africa. See the spike in obesity and heart issues in
countries that had moderate health problems prior to American
companies introduction of these poisons. Unfortunately, one cannot
completely knock it-it creates jobs. I hope Nigerians are
disciplined enough to eat these types of food in moderation. Women
    should generally avoid milk products.

This is new kind of slavery and as usual we don’t realise
it. Is the capital realised from this staying in the country? We’re
celebrating the opening of Dominos and Cold stone like they’re
special gifts from the “world of the enlightened”. Fast food
companies that are being vilified in their own countries have found
a new market. No now, they haven’t tried. Na to hold red carpet for
    the launch of MacDonalds.

This is a good venture but these places should be visited in moderation. Someone should come up with a healthy section like low fat frozen yogurt with varieties of fruits and other healthy options.

Truth is majority of Nigerians can’t afford to eat these things regularly especially since it isn’t that cheap here given factors like PHCN that cause increase in the price of goods here so for now i don’t think obesity is a big concern except for the elites.
