Court okays hearing of suit seeking prosecution of Fani-Kayode, Senator Abaribe over Nnamdi Kanu’s Escape
A suit seeking an order of mandamus to compel the police and the DSS to prosecute some individuals for the escape of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu has been approved by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Punch reports that the suit was filed by Isiah Ayugu and Justice John Tsoho gave the order for commencement.
Ayugu’s suit is seeking the arrest and prosecution of former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode and also the sureties for Kanu’s bail – Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Tochukwu Uchendu, and Emmanuel Shallom Ben.
Justice Tsoho also fixed November 22 for hearing and ordered that the defendants – DSS, DSS DG, Police, and the IG of Police – be served notice.
Nnamdi Kanu had resurfaced in Jerusalem weeks back after going missing for over a year since the clash between the military and his supporters at his Abia home.
