EFCC reveals why it's Unable to Probe Ganduje over Bribe Videos | BellaNaija

Abdullahi Ganduje

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has shared why it’s currently unable to probe the Kano State Governor Umar Ganduje.

3 videos have so far been released showing Ganduje allegedly receiving a bribe from unknown contractors.

During an anti-corruption tweet meet with Tap-Nitiative, The EFCC’s official Twitter @officialEFCC wrote that Ganduje is a serving governor and thus has immunity.

The governor is still serving and constitutionally is covered by immunity. Being that as it may, the matter is in the instance sub judice.

Asked further about the case of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose who was investigated and had his accounts frozen by the EFCC while still a governor, the account wrote:

The EFCC normally doesn’t give out information on investigations. Investigation of anyone for an alleged fraud remains a covert process.

The EFCC acting chairman Ibrahim Magu had during a press conference refused to answer questions about why the commission wasn’t investigating the governor who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
