BN EDITS: Pink Ball 2009 Best Dressed
Posted on Thursday, May 28th, 2009 at 1:32 PMBy Ijeoma Ndekwu
While everyone who attended the Genevieve Pink Ball put their best foot forward, some decided to put out two feet! So here you have it, the Best Dressed of the Night.
With these individuals, it was about giving a new definition to the word perfection; every detail was taking into account and that’s why they shine so brightly. It is the fit, the boldness of their choices and the successful execution of the entire look from top to bottom by: addition, subtraction and balance that puts them on our list. I rest my case, now you be the incorruptible judge!
Ebuka is the epitome of sophistication in this suit. Tailored to perfection, I love that he went for a dark grey suit rather than a black one, as it complements the fuchsia very well. Sonia goes in the right direction with this short piece. It has youthful exuberance written all over it, and the pearls give it the classy touch needed. Aramide and Ngozi’s combine their pink dresses with gold accessories, I love the empire waist line, the sleeves of their dresses, and how they complement their look with chandelier earrings.

Here we see two ladies who choose to play by the book and two others who go for a twist! Ifeoma’s floor length print dress is nothing short of divine and so is the knee length ruched dress. Ifeoma’s dress gives her an enviable elongated silhouette and the other lady, shows off her to die-for curves in her ruched dress with a tasteful deep plunging neckline. Black and green are statement colours, especially in a room full of pink roses! These ladies stand out for their colour choice and beautiful dresses. Both dresses are cinched at the waist; the asymmetric black one with a brooch at the end, and the green dress with an adorable slim pink sash across her waist. The frill detail on the bodice makes the dress quite alluring.

Genevieve‘s number is a selective and daring piece. A big personality is required to pull this dress off. Can a personality get any bigger than Genevieve? While that creates room for an argument, it can’t be denied that she worked this dress seemingly effortlessly! With a high cut slit, she definitely puts the va in va-va-voom! Bukki is a glowing princess in her bubble hem dress, her accessories, and the sash on her waist add to her looks appeal. Mary Ali-Baba is stunning is this dress! The embroidered details and the fit of the dress make her breathtaking! Our final stunner sparkles in her pleated dress with silver and turquoise embellishments.

Digging the lady in the black pant suit. Michelle Dede looks lovely, Ebuka is on point. Genevieve looks nice but predictable JD7 outfit. Lanre Da Silva simple and nice.
Genevive’s outfit rocked. very nice and stylish.
ehen…dis is wat i m talking about, people dressed well and looking good!! not like dat previous post…geez
im so loving Bola Balogun’s look…who says u have to wear a dress to a ball?
OMG. I mean i can’t compete if i move home. Like seriously I’m nobody Ibu Onye LOL. Dang Vogue should be covering naija women for real. Genevieve disappointed though compared to the other women.
doyin abiola’s dress is the business. What the hell was buki wright wearing. The neckline was good but the hemline makes her look like a kid. A slim fit would have worked better than the bubble hem line.
Love Love Love what Lanre Da Silva is doing with the Vintage lace and floral patterns. Very 60′s chic
that Ebuka Man is sewwwwexyyy!! AS HECK!!! plz who has his number?.lwkm
genevieve is my fave….jeez…fabulous…the colour too is cool! not too pinky!!
genevieve’s gown is to die for…nuff said!..also like d 3rd gown on her row
sonia shoes!!Hell no..not with that dress
i wish aramide’s dress was much longer..but it looked nice sa!
EBuka….yeah i liked that he did grey and not black….he is a good dresser except when he does the silly bowtie andre 3000 wanna be thing!
i liked geneivieve’s dress but i dont think it needed a slit at all
Gen did It!!!! Go Gen GO!
Is Ngozi Nkwoji nee Ngonadi????!!!!
some of these ladies, what part of the word PINK don’t they understand?
love genevieve’s
Go Ebuka go!!!! loving your swagger…The only guy to make it unto the best dressed list …yay!!!!…..
genevieve is so hollywood…dayuum her out fit is the best she rocked it well and its not too pinky i love it …….go gen !
I noticed Mary Ali Baba always has a smile on! Just had to compliment her on that. lovely! Needless to say she looks totally gorgeous in that dress! Overall a lot of nicely dresses ladies. I’m loving Kate Henshaw’s too!
Lilian had slimmed down sooo much!! Almost didnt recognize you girl. Fab!
No nightmarish outfit seen except…..hmm ‘a scary facial’…..lol. Bella/IJ leave me alone o! Why did you put up that pic, like you didn’t know ehy…?
I agree, she is soooooo hollywood, stunning!!!!
Stephanie looks like she is wearing a long night gown.
Gen looks wonderful.Kip it up gal.
im so happy it wasnt all PINK. Just cuz its says Pink ball doesnt mean one shuld be swimming in pink. I love the play of the blues and peaches with of course, a touch of PINK!
The ladies all looked nice. How old is Dorothy Atake?Gosh she could give youngies a run for their money…she’s hawt.
bukky wright’s dress???as in WTF
Wow, for these girls in Nigeria, what part of the pink did they not understand? Well, tacky is as tacky does, I see people in blue, black, white, etc. with no sort of pink in it. At lease these set of ladies are better than the second set on the other post. My eyes are simply hurting.
Dorathy Atake. like husband, like wife.
always on fire!!!
is the word ‘pink’ really that hard to comprehend?????????????
oh yeah, favourite dress out of them all has to be femi atilade’s PINK number, however, her makeup is a definite no no!!!
i just made a discovery!!!
Purple is not pink.
I think some people didn’t get the memo about this being a PINK ball! Even if a person wants to wear any color, then please carry a PINK something or the other to be in line with the rest of the people there, respect the host and do what the invitation says what is so hard about that? Nigerians! Everybody wan be Igwe, no body wanna be a villager! Great job, Genevieve and of course, girlfriend brought it with that dress! Bukky Wright, honey that dress is NOT age appropriate! You ain’t 12 so stop it.
lol! love that.I have made even worse discoveries fom this post.
Genevive looks amazing! Her dress is just too fabulous! I love the feather detail. Her style is very flattering for her body type.
My own “The Real Best Dressed” within Bella’s selection:
1. Genevive Nnaji
2. Isio Wanogho
3. Elohor Isihor
4. Lillian Unachukwu – Even though it’s a blue dress.
The rest are at par…nothing special.
GENEVIEVE IS CUTE……………………………..
Mrs Irabor didnt quite look like the belle of the ball she was supposed to be
Forget, EBUKA nailed it…..
i agree with you!
those bead…eeeekkk!!!
Ok so who is this Ebuka dude? Like is he a celeb or what?
i think he was a big brother Africa or NIgeria contestant!
genevieve looks stunning and beautiful goshhhh
Elohor Isihor has worn some pretty numbers before this event. I dont feel that outfit did her any justice. Plus the hair!!!!!!!If it was packed away from her face then maybe one can appreciate the attire a little.
Why is Genevieve so damn beautiful?? lol she looks absolutely stunning.oh my goodness , i love her entire Ensemble, after genevieve i love kate henshaws outfit :0
and why dont some pple follow instruction , pink ball oo its called a pink ball , not a green, purple, or red ball..lol anyways .. genevieve loos fabulous..she always stands out and that just shows she is a true star AMEN TO THAT!!
big ups to Genevieve
GENEVIEVE IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I AM PROUD TO BE CALLED A NIGERIAN.. SEE HOW SHE WORKED THAT OUTFIT WELLDAYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM
WOW WE HAVE BEAUTIFUL PPLE IN AFRICA..OH AND BY THE WAY EBUKA IS A HOT COMMODITY..HE LOOKS WONDERFUL, AND YUMMY…LOL
That’s funny, cause she said Zizi Cardow made the dress and not Data Okorodudu. I guess that means you don’t know her like that afterall doesn’t it?
You nailed it Suzann, just what i was thinking
Ehen! Enough “beef” plus plenty “pepper in d body”=SOUR BELLE. My dear speak for yourself you hear? Genevieve rocked the ball and that’s the fact. She did it like no other can. No be by force to comment you know? You fit just read.
excuse you?
In the same manner you don’t have to comment on my comment. Rude tart.
and the “cotton boards” on the hemline. Mba!
Cut your coat according to your size. What if that’s all these people, who colors other than pink, had in their closets? They should spend money again to buy something new?
Ah being a Celeb or Bigz girlz in lagos is not easy oh. Persin fit go bankrupt. I’d rather wear the wrong color or repeat an outfit in my outfit than empty my bank account.
After now when you hear scandal about how their husbands looted government coffers, you’ll complain, not knowing that the men were stealing to feed their wives fashion addiction for your satisfaction
My sentiments exactly. Elohor’s outfit gets a big zero.
I’ll pick rude over hate any day sugar.
This is why people shouldn’t assume… look at you making an ass of yourself. Have you seen my other comments about Genevieve on this site. I happen to like her and think she’s on top of her game. She’s classy and has stepped up her acting game.
So i don’t like one outfit now I’m a hater. Dude or girl you need to re-examine your defination of hate.
Mchew. I guess i probably should have said oh I liked her Christian Louboutin pink slides so you could “assume” I wasn’t hating on her.
Fine. I will go on to ASSUME that you are looking at a different bunch of pictures considering you’re the only one here with the “verdict” on the dress, hmm?
Wow! Are the shoes actually Loubous? Lol!!!
Abeg leave me hand!
Koko, you have a problem. She didn’t like her outfit so she’s hating? Are you for real? In fact I choose to believe you are kidding. I didn’t particularly like it, or many of the so called best dressed as well. How am I hating? Must we all like the same thing? Was her comment rude? No, it wasn’t. Grow up
i think they all look good indeed.i know the lady beside doyin abiola in d pink and red dress,i think she is the md of house of dorcas, she made the ushers outfit.i like her dress.
Doyin has the best dress in my opinion and its something i would wear. i just wouldnt want to wear one solid color as pink but a design.
and my girl, my favorite Genevieve looks great.
i love her. she looks very nice and curvy in that dress.
-Naija 4 Life!
Gen looks hot as usual.
genny has the best dress here. wow! she looks xtra beautiful. wow! pls who designed her outfit. shes a real diva jare.
I actually think Betty Irabor’s dress looks the best. Genevieve is beautiful no doubt but her dress was horrific. The black design on her breasts is hideous and draws unnecessary attention to her breasts. Basically the only thing nice about the dress is by virtue of the person wearing it.
genevieve and ebuka are the best. its as simple as that.
the lady @ the extreme just beside mary ali-baba is not bad at all. i love her dress.
I love that Genevieve takes risks and pulls it off all the time. Good job. lov the black detailing. A true fashionista.
I love the dress of the woman beside Bukky Wright too. Nice.
Wo! wo!! wo!!! Missy!!! What’s wrong? What unnecessary attention is that (ignoring the word hidieous)? What? You didn’t know she had breasts around that region?
And I thought you can only attract attention to what’s actually visible. I don’t see no cleavage.. not to mention breasts peaking out from her dress anywhere. Do you?
some pple marvel me with their comments!i ve found out dt becos of their love for a particular person fail to see their flaws.d best dressed to me re Doyin Abiola,Mary Ali,d lady beside her,Elorhor and Lilian Unachukwu
Genevieve the great! Kudos to you madame.
genny got one of the best dress@@@@@@@
uk
Kate Henshaw outfits rocks………..y is she not on d list of best dress, i guess some kind of beef goin on,
