The brand new issue of New African Woman Magazine is packed with lots of fabulous features. From an interview with the first lady of Gabon, Sylvia Bongo Ondimba to a cover feature with African star, Genevieve Nnaji.
For her cover feature, Genevieve is photographed in pieces by African designers including Zed Eye and JBL. Gene discussed her “ideal man, wedding bells, her fear of failure and why Nigeria rocks“.
The fashion pages are dominated by a fashion editorial titled “The Mirror Girls“, the spread is inspired by Genevieve’s latest movie “Mirror Boy” and features fresh off the runway pieces from designers including Kiki Kamanu, House of Nwocha and Lanre DaSilva-Ajayi.
The magazine also explores hot topics including extreme plastic surgery and much more. Check out excepts from the magazine below. New African Woman is available via subscription and in major bookstores around the UK.

First?
Happy for you! …finally you’ve realised your life long dream!
Oh Genevieve *kisses* u go girl!
As omotola just came out with mag cover…abi?….pchewwwww
So Omotola is the only one that can be on a magazine cover abi?
Don’t mind her. I guess actresses are supposed to take turns in being on the cover of magazines. Should Genevieve have waited 3 months after Omotola’s cover before accepting an offer to be on the cover of a completely different magazine?
you seriously sound ridiculous. is it every genevieve post or omotola post that one must mention the other? is Omotola the first and only person to do a magazine cover? hahaha. and its even funnier that you think this has anything to do with Omotola. Omotola’s magazine cover just came out about 5 days ago and you think genny ran within 5 days, signed a deal, did a photoshoot, etc for a magazine just to “compete” with Omotola? lol, okay lets be real here. MY GOD! what some people say sef. if you knew, Genny is currently promoting Tango With Me, and im sure this photshoot was done long ago.
As in, well said The Amaka…pls i am tired of all this comparing crap…i like both actresses, they are both beautiful women…pls women should stop propagating this imaginary feud between these 2. I am sure the both of them dont care what the other is doing and they r just doing their own thing, but NOOOO that is not enough for some people they must be beefing each other,as far as they r concerned omoT appeared to them in the dream to tell them genny is jealous of her and vice versa… just because you go through life having imaginary people beefing you doesnt mean everyone is like you. Please women learn to support one another…i say women because 90% of the time we r d ones beefing each other and looking for people that r beefing us…
Please help ma and ask oh… Na real Wa to some people oh… Shelt meln… as my uncle wud say “Stop rapping oaps”

i dnt think that hair colour suits her in the first pic…..look good tho
Genny my best friend!!! In my head of course

i just love genny more each day..wish u more success
as usual…the ever dashing genevieve!…africa’s no 1 screen diva.love it
Wowzers! She has a dead animal on her head. HELL NO.
The cover is soooooooooooo 1981 Whitney Houston-ish.
Heart Genevieve and what she’s achieved but that cover s a NO NO!!
The New African Woman mag is one of the best I’ve seen, love it.
I like the competition, and genny def. rocks but one of the full length pic, especially the middle and the first right one is totally NOT like really showed her slouchy physiche.
wow the hair doesnt look good!!
4 some reason I hate the hair, esp in the cover pic..kilode..and 4 some reason think she shouldn’t have worn pointed pump, bt rather round mouth pumps with the panty-hose (just mi thoughts). love the dress though and crush on the woman no mata wat…4 her, I would agree to being a groupie
Co-sign. Hair & shoes are not working.
BUBAAI did it again, amazing styling
Bubaai only styled the mirror girls shoot, luvit
Afriacn women rock.Period. No more comparisms peeps.
I like the relaxed , cheerful vibe she gave off in this mag
this is the worst photoshooot ever, Its like we are back to sharon stone days, with that cheap looking plastic wig. C’mon the stylist did a bad job with the hair, but the clothes are nice though. This is the least classiest cover i have ever seen her. Anyway it wont be long we shall see her in INSTYLE Magazine pages – so am not worried. ONce you make it to that mag – you have arrived and the only blacks they feature on rotation in that mag is Gabrielle Union, Kelly Washington, and Beyonce. Every now and then Eve of Mary gets lucky – but other than is VIP mag sha. No rifrafs
gene looks good. very pretty woman
i want Genny’s hair
Wonderful.You deserve it.
Genny, always upping her game.love u to bits. GO GIRL
I love my Genevieve… yes I call her mine bcos I am her number 1 fan and she is my mentor…
Gene, that weave is a hot mess. the colour, the texture, the styling…..i could go on and on.
Not her best photo. Infact its the worst i’ve seen.
Please fire your hair stylist and ask that your “human Hair” vendor for a refund you in full because this one certainly came from Las plasticos cheapitos not brazil.
cool, so all you running your mout remember this the next time an omotola stry comes up! no genny talk…still think its because an Omotola cover came out…pishaun!
This cover is bad, bad , bad…very old and quite tired! the pictures inside didnt help, looked really childish and the pointed low heeled heller…argh! genny slow down…ure spreading yourself too tin!
wow i love this magazine but the stylist didnt put my queen well o
Gene,
You look sweet, I cherished ur efforts. I pray that the Almighty God will grant ur heart desire to reach the greater height amen. Chinasa ur sister.
I still want to see ur hair styles, fashion dresses and ur shoes it makes me to be happy. Chinasa
Inyammaaa. Sorry, but I think she looks gross. No hate.
Lolllllll @ genny goofing around. Not the best shoot but definitely different and different always works. I like her for not always wanting to be perfect. I think that’s why I can’t stand that Omawunmi chick. Too pretentious. We don’t always get sunny days, sometimes it pours.
Do some of u guys have to complain and criticize everything,,,,,,, 80s or Whitney’s or Madona’s style or whatever,,, does it really matter?,,,,, I am sure the Editor of “New African Women” mag had her theme and thats exactly what we are seeing here, so I do not know why some pple are whining here, the hair this, the wig that,,,oh pple, must everything go according to ur wishes? the owner of the mag is happy, Genny’s fans are happy, so whats the big deal?? so pple do away with your beef for Gene,,,,, as for me, I congratulate Genny for a well done job,,,,TEAM GENNY for ever
The cover is “ok”
Wonder what the inside of the magazine would be like.

BUBAAI KILLED THE MIRROR GIRLS SHOOT, LUVIT
FOR THOSE WHO SAY GENE TOOK THIS BECAUSE OMOTOLA JUST APPEAR ON A MAG COVER, GET A LIFE! Genevieve is too classy too be declassified with an unhealthy competition with Omotola (of all people). NAW like CNN inside Africa capitalised on Gene’s visit to London for The Mirror Boy premiere and invited her for an interview. Here is a link to prove it http://facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150124315342092&id=180991057091&set=a.190270712091.128724.180991057091&refid=13 . Like someone said being on d cover of NAW is a good thing for Genevieve whether hater like it or whatever.
Appeared***
Genevieve’s body language is a bit odd…looking at all her pictures with people, you can almost always see her leaning away or putting some kind of distance between them, and her smile always gets a tiny bit strained. She’s obviously at her best doing her own thing by herself…it’s funny, it gives the impression that she’s actually very reserved or shy. Love her all the same.
Mirror Girls
I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the creative team for their outstanding work:- Photography: Toni Tones, Styling: Adebayo and Bubu at BUBAAI
Makeup: Lisa Phil-Ebosie , Stylist assistant: Olawunmi Shobowale.
This shoot would have been impossible without you all.
The picture on the mag doesn’t just look like geny, she’s lovelier than that, don’t love the angle.
Dis gal is gorgeous! Leaves me speechlesss…go Genny, rock
